Shut up and Run love

I LOVE the Shut up and run! blog! If you have never read her blog.. go! Go NOW! She is hilarious and amazing! I laugh out loud every time I read her blog! Beth is really a motivation for me, an idol, my shero! I love these two quotes from an interview she did with Fit and Hungry, it hit home and made me feel warm and gooey.

"Define runner.
In literal terms: that moment when you break into a jog from a fast walk you are a runner. Any pace, any distance, any goal. In figurative terms: someone who is determined, disciplined and/or strong. "

"If I run, do I have to shut up?
Heck no. The point of the “Shut Up and Run” title is that you need to stop bitching and complaining and making excuses for not running and just get out and do it. If you’re already out there running, talk as much as you’d like as long as you don’t pass out."

I can run a lot longer if I'm talking. It seems to regulate my breath, puts me in a groove, expends some nervous energy... as if the running wasn't already doing that.

I am back in the saddle again. *Cue song*

I have lost some of my groove, but slowly I'm getting it back. I moved, I partied with a whale and had a great summer with great friends. Now I'm back on track... or getting there anyway. I have been running. I plan on doing a half marathon in Nov. I'm a little nervous that I won't be able to train enough, but I know I will.

I am thinking of joining a running group. I need people to run with. I can run on my own, but I like running with people. I also think that if I am part of a group I will think people will expect me to be there and I won't slack off.

I'll let ya know if I actually join.
